sometimes i forget how many times i’ve picked myself off the floor, how many times i’ve washed away smudgy makeup and put myself to bed. how many times i’ve said no to something unhealthy. said yes to something good. how many times i’ve treated myself with kindness and patience. i forget how many times i’ve tended to wounds and made peace with my own anger. if i was taking care of a body that was not my own, i’d believe i was doing everything i could. so here’s to remembering that i’m doing the best i can.
like for real… there are so many cultures and faiths that consume animals ethically. we don’t source our meat from mass industries that abuse animals and we utilise the entire animal for food or clothing. there are rituals and prayers unique to different cultures that are done to thank animals for their sacrifice, or concepts similar. Those who follow Islam and Judaism (who eat Halal and Kosher Meat, respectively) are required to kill the animal in the most painless way possible. stop telling us that what we’re doing is wrong and immoral when your expensive vegan products are sourced from companies that destroy land belonging to Native Americans or exploit people of colour to do their underpaid labour. Be mindful of other cultures and stop grouping us in with the white meat-eaters.

Because slitting someone’s throat is ethical and painless…. And rice, beans, and potatoes are wayyy too expensive. I live off of 25 cent nissan soy flavored ramen packets. Also most crop grown goes to feeding animals so that humans can eat then, so don’t pretended like vegans are the ones destroying land to grow crops and underpaying people of color. Meat eaters eat crops too and eat animals who eat more crops than humans. That is an issue, yes, and we can actually work on that too believe it or not. But let’s also not forget about underpaid, over worked offered illegal immigrants who work in slaughter houses, one of the most dangerous jobs, and in turn end up with PTSD and injuries. Also crime rates and violence go up in locations with slaughterhouses due to the traumas the workers face. Don’t use other people’s race and financial status as your own shitty excuse. Most people who use that argument are usually financially stable white people and I know plenty of poor people and people of color who are vegans. Please don’t try to erase then. And actually they’re more likely to be vegan as well, because they can empathize with the victims. Tf outta here with your ignorant posts.

Because crime statistics and mental health correlation to crime is something I’m intimately familiar with in the jurisdictions I live and work, and it’s very much the opposite.
